My experience with East Coast Danes has been great. Having a great dane requires a special kind of person and a special environment, as they are a sensitive breed. I chose Miss Blue when she was only four weeks old and named her Kaia. I got her on July 20, 2014, she was eight weeks old. She is a happy and healthy dane. Our Hannah we adopted from East Coast Danes just turned seven years old. She has been a star ever since we picked her up at 2 months old. I purchased my harlequin dane as a puppy from Lori. Lori was extremely helpful from the start in providing all  necessary background information about the puppy's care and recommendations for a smooth transition into its new home. "Quincy" has a wonderful disposition and has been a therapy dog with a canine "good citizen" certification. Since the day we got married, my husband and I had both always wanted to add a dane to our family. We were sure of it. However, it took a lot longer than we thought. Not because there weren't a lot out there, or because we didn't have the money or time to properly care for one. It was actually quite the opposite. We had all of these things in our favor. The problem was that we couldn't find a person that raised them (I hate the word breeder because it takes so much more than that) that met our standards. Then one day out of the blue, god answered our prayers and we found Lori from East coast danes. Fast forward to today and we have had the pleasure of raising our 2 beautiful babies from her, Roxy and Jaxson, a Merle and a blue. Lori of East Coast Danes truly loves all of her Danes and gets to know the families that are interested in purchasing her Danes. We found Lori after searching the web, knowing our original breeder was no longer breeding Danes. We have a 5 year old Blue Dane (little white lie here, I cant talk about him as he is no longer here) and wanted to add another Dane to our family. After finding Lori, we went to work . We purchased our baby Isabelle from East Coast Danes in 2006. She was a beautiful Harlequin Great Dane. Isabelle had the best disposition, she was wonderful with kids and other dogs. She was the sweetest and gentlest girl. When we went to pick her out we were able to see her mom and dad and where the pups would grow up until 8 weeks of age when we could pick her up. My Great Dane Saphira has been a great joy to me since the moment I saw her at about 2 wks old. After finding Lori Palmer and her Great Danes I decided on getting a puppy instead of adopting again when I found out my 4yr old Dane had cancer...just one visit was all it took to cement that idea. I was able to meet the mother father and grandmother of the litter and talk to Lori and visit her every few weeks watching her grow and grow. Saphira has a gentle confident nature she is so smart and I am looking forward to having her fully certified as a therapy dog I am already encouraged by her natural ability to interact with the disabled and Alzheimers patients one of which is my mother whom she is so good with even at her 1st visit at 4 months old.
